OCTAVO ANIVERSARIO
Pequeño homenaje a mi padre, aunque con un poco de retraso. Las fotos son de un día que nos acercamos al Museo Barjola, a un taller con los niños, que formaba parte del homenaje que se le hizo en el año 2018.
A él le encantaba estar acompañado de los más jóvenes, y me consta que, aunque al principio de su carrera veía la enseñanza como algo temporal, se fue metiendo de lleno en ella y disfrutó mucho con su trabajo. En los años 1969 y 1970 editó dos cuadernos de dibujo, adaptados al temario oficial, pero a su manera, es decir, dándole el protagonismo a los alumnos. En ellos todas las explicaciones se hacían en referencia a los dibujos de los chavales.
Durante 33 años fue catedrático de dibujo en el Instituto Jovellanos de Gijón, de manera que por sus aulas pasaron cientos, o miles de estudiantes. Quienes fueron sus alumnos lo definen como buen comunicador, afable y cercano. Fueron muy pocos los que recibieron como nota un suspenso. Se comenta que, durante los años de la dictadura, en más de una ocasión se interpuso entre los alumnos y algún profesor confundido y con la mano demasiado larga.
